Welcome to our version of the African cord necklace. The “Umoja” is a three strand braided fabric necklace made from kente print, denim and upcycled jersey. This 24″ necklace uses kente print fabric, denim and upcycled jersey to create a necklace that is safe for your baby and toddler to pull and chew on while you’re wearing it. When it gets dirty, it can be thrown in the wash!
“Umoja” means “unity” in Swahili. The braided necklace reminds us that our lives are an interwoven story. We are called to love our neighbor as ourselves, no matter where that neighbor is from.
While this skinny scarf necklace is stretchy, fun and colorful, it’s only for Mom to wear!
